I am an information enthusiast with an interest in literary fiction and everything nonfiction. Novels and film are my primary passions, but I have a longstanding love for all media. When in elementary school, I taught myself how to make stop-motion and 2D animations. Since then, I have learned and practiced the following:
- Shooting and editing sound/video (with After Effects, Premiere, Vegas, etc.)
- Image editing with Photoshop and Gimp
- 3D modeling with Blender and other software
- Sketching and Painting
- Writing novels and short stories
- Writing essays and news articles
- Copy editing and composing with InDesign
- Playing the ukulele
- Shooting still photos
- Buying used books by the dozen
I am currently studying at Purdue University. Before that, I worked full time at Walmart for three years as a Photo Lab Specialist (fancy, right?). During that time I did nothing but read books and write short stories and novels. After discovering the role of the starving artist loses its novelty over the years, I began to reexamine my role in society with a new perspective, and after much thought I
decided to go back to college. Though I sometimes wince at that lost time, I am infinitely more informed after that period of self education, and I can't imagine how badly I would have wasted college if I hadn't waited. So now I am studying, writing, drawing, and animating, which keeps me quite busy but hopeful for the future.
